Our Pastor & His Family
A Prayer for the Pastor

Scripture-Based Prayers to Pray for our Pastor
- I thank You, Father, that Your eyes are on my pastor and Your ears are
attentive to my pastor's prayers and Your face is against those who plot evil
against him (1 Peter 3:12) For I know that in all things You work for the good of Pastor Alan who loves You. (Romans 8:28) Who can accuse this pastor who is daily interceded for by Jesus Christ? (Romans 8:33-34) Therefore, in all things my pastor is more than a conqueror in Christ Jesus. (Romans 8:37)
- Lord, I pray for discernment in exposing any schemes of the enemy against
my pastor. (Ephesians 6:11-12)
- Father, I thank You that no weapons formed against my pastor will
prosper. Every tongue raised against him will be cast down. Rumors and
gossip will be turned aside. For Pastor Alan will be still before You and
will wait on You. My pastor will dwell in the shadow of the Most High God
and will be delivered from fear and doubts (Psalm 91:5-6) Set Your angels
about my pastor (Ps. 91:11) and no power of the enemy shall harm him. (Luke
10:19)
- Lord, let my pastor have a discerning mind to prioritize the minutes of
the day. Let my pastor discern what is most important and be guarded against
the tyranny of the urgent. (2 Cor. 11:14, 1 Jn 4:1)
- Father, allow my pastor to glory only in the cross. (Gal. 6:14) Keep my
pastor from pride and pity. Let Jesus Christ be his reason for ministry.
- Lord Jesus, keep my pastor holy in every way. (1 Peter 1:16) Protect him
from seducing temptations especially when he is away from home, tired, or
hard-pressed. Give Pastor Alan godly men in his life that will encourage him
and walk with him in personal holiness. (James 4:7). As my pastor draws near
to You, draw near to him. (James 4:8)
- Lord I lift up my pastor's family. His wife Lisa and his children, Alan,
John, Anna Grace and Jacob. Place them in the shelter of the most High to
rest in the shadow of the Almighty. Lord may You be their refuge and
fortress. Lord protect their family time. Lord cover their home with love.
Lord I claim your faithfulness as the means of meeting their financial needs
in Christ Jesus. (Phil. 4:19) Lord command your angels to guard them as they
travel and when they are at home together and even as they are separated
because of commitments. You have said, "I will be with them in trouble, I
will deliver them and honor them. With long life, I will satisfy them and
show them my salvation." (Ps. 91:15-16)
- Lord, help Pastor Alan to stand against criticism and inordinate
expectations. Guard him against stress and worry. Lord cause him only and
always to please you first, realizing when he does that everything else will
be added unto him. (Matt. 6:33). Your word tells him in Jer. 1:8 "Do not be
afraid of their faces, for I am with you to deliver you," says the LORD.
Lord never allow my pastor to chose fear over your truth. Help my pastor to
be encouraged by your words. Isa 51:7 "Listen to Me, you who know
righteousness, you people in whose heart is My law: do not fear the reproach
of men, nor be afraid of their insults." Isa 51:12 "I, even I, am He who
comforts you. Who are you that you should be afraid of a man who will die,
and of the son of a man who will be made like grass?" Jer 1:17 "Therefore
prepare yourself and arise, and speak to them all that I command you. Do not
be dismayed before their faces, lest I dismay you before them." Ezek 2:6-7 6
"And you, son of man, do not be afraid of them nor be afraid of their words,
though briers and thorns are with you and you dwell among scorpions; do not
be afraid of their words or dismayed by their looks, though they are a
rebellious house. 7 You shall speak My words to them, whether they hear or
whether they refuse, for they are rebellious." Luke 12:4 "And I say to you,
My friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body, and after that have
no more that they can do." and help Pastor Alan to remember that not everyone
will rejoice in the truth of the Gospel. Prov 1:7 "The fear of the LORD is
the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction."
- Forgive those who hurt my pastor and speak against him, and may Pastor
Alan walk in forgiveness. (Eph. 4:32-5:1) Guard my pastor from unprofitable
imaginations. (Eph. 4:17) Let his every thought be taken captive to the
obedience of Christ. (2 Cor. 10:3-5)
- Lord bless my pastor with a rich prayer life and reveal deep and
wonderful truths to him during his study time. (Acts 6:4, 2 Tim. 2:15)
- As Pastor Alan preaches, let him proclaim Jesus Christ and let his
preaching be in the energy of the Holy Spirit. (Col. 1:28)
- Lord as you have promised, grant my pastor lasting fruit. (Mal. 3:11,
John 15:16) May the membership of Grace Baptist Church become disciples
who in turn disciple. And may all of our church's membership grow in the
grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ.
For it is in the name of Jesus I pray, Amen
