Grace Under Pressure Youth Ministry
Charles Spurgeon, the great Baptist preacher, said it this way: "Remember this; or you may fall into error by fixing your minds so much upon the faith which is the channel of salvation as to forget the grace which is the fountain and source even of faith itself. Faith is the work of God's grace in us. No man comes to Me" says Jesus, "except the Father who sent Me draws him. . .Grace is the first and last moving cause of salvation; and faith, essential as it is, is only an important part of the machinery which grace employs. We are saved "through faith," but salvation is 'by grace'."
God's grace gives us strength to live for Him 2Tim. 2: 1 “You therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.” Hebrews 13:5 “…it is good for the heart to be strengthened by grace…” God's grace is a position in which we stand in. God's grace is the reason for our salvation God's grace is the basis of our righteousness Gods grace flows from His Word God's grace grows and matures us God's grace should be sought after in time of need God's grace is reserved for the humble only |
As the youth group of Grace Baptist church, we seek to foster an environment where the youth of our church will be aware of the world in which they live, and what God expects of them in that world. We seek to introduce the youth multiple times a week to the Word of God so they will be ready to face the world and make an impact for Christ. The youth group is comprised of youth from ages 12-18 and from grades 7 through 12. We currently have four youth Sunday School teachers and 10 Wednesday night helpers.
We have four Sunday School classes divided between boys and girls and then by Junior and Senior High. We collectively meet two times a week - Wednesday and Sunday. On Wednesdays we worship through singing, prayer and preaching. We are currently going through the gospel of Mark, verse by verse. After the message, we break into groups for further discussion. On Sundays we meet during Discipleship Training and study such things as: biblical or ethical topics and themes, doctrinal studies, or passages of Scripture.
We want to provide our youth with opportunities for ministry within our church as well as outside our church. We want them to discover their spiritual gifts and look for places where they can put them into practice. The youth are a vital part of our body and we want them to get involved in the mission of our church.
